Memory Bank
Read Deuteronomy 8:1-5
When you have something you have to remember, what do you do? Post-it's, notes, repetition, calendar, etc...? Scripture contains our instructions for life. How can we be certain we retain what God teaches us in His word?

It's a love-hate thing
Does the world hate you? I once heard someone ask this question: If you were put on trial for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you? What they were getting at is whether or not you live out your faith. Chances are, if you live out your faith you will encounter the hatred of the world? Why does John use love-hate language to describe our relationship with the world? Does this all seem a bit extreme?

A Different Kind of Love
There are a number of meanings and applications of the word "love" in the English language. I love a big juicy hamburger, but not in the same way that I love my wife. As you read from 1 Corinthians 13 what kind of love does Paul describe? Why is this love so important?

More than a Conquerer
Read Revelation 5:1-5
Only Jesus can conquer sin. How does that make you feel? Does this fill you with joy...confidence...what?

Dealing with Guilt
Read Isaiah 6:6-7
How do you deal with feelings of guilt? Take some time and be honest with God. He knows everything you are hiding from Him and it is the guilt and sin that keep you from drawing closer to Him. How do you think God responds to our guilt and confessions? Read 1 John 1:9

Compare and Contrast
Read Revelation 1:9-20
How does the vision of John compare to that of Isaiah? Do you ever find yourself comparing your experiences with the experiences of others? Is this helpful?

Dreamy
Read Isaiah 6:1-5
Have you ever woken up from a wierd dream and can't remember what it was about? Clearly, Isaiah had a vision that was clear and left an impression. Have you ever had a dream that affected you in a lasting way?

You Matter to God!
Read Exodus 3:7-12
God knows all about your struggles...and cares about them. How does this passage give you hope? We often feel like we can't do a specific task God has given to us. How does God respond to Moses' objection of "Who am I?"

Meet a VIP
Read Exodus 3:4-6
Have you ever met someone important or famous? Was it an intimidating experience? Clearly Moses was afraid when God spoke to him. Why do you think that is?

Winter Jam 2009
We are heading to Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY to attend Winter Jam '09 on March 7! The concert features Hawk Nelson, Toby Mac, Newsong, and more! Cost is only $10 for this concert. A recent change has been made. Instead of meeting at the church at 3:00 we will instead meet at the church at 2:00. The show ends @ 9:20. Seating is first come first serve so we want to secure some good seats!
A Burning Bush or Indigestion?
Read Exodus 3:1-3
God used some unusual circumstances to get Moses' attention. I am sure Moses did a double take when seeing a bush that was burning...but not. Have you ever felt that God was trying to get your attention through an unusual event?

Survive Highlights
What an awesome weekend at "Survive". We had 20 youth attend the conference, some of which are not presently involved in church anywhere. My hope is that they will find FBC is a great place to plug in and learn more about Christ.
There were over 9,000 youth in attendance and during the outreach experience they collected over 25 tons of food for Sunshine Ministries in St. Louis.
Our group partnered with a local church in Granite City and shared the gospel to the people living near their church.
What an awesome time to experience God.
Amen
