Survive Highlights
What an awesome weekend at "Survive". We had 20 youth attend the conference, some of which are not presently involved in church anywhere. My hope is that they will find FBC is a great place to plug in and learn more about Christ.
There were over 9,000 youth in attendance and during the outreach experience they collected over 25 tons of food for Sunshine Ministries in St. Louis.
Our group partnered with a local church in Granite City and shared the gospel to the people living near their church.
What an awesome time to experience God.
Amen

Survive '08
It is time! Survive is here! Dare2Share Ministries has done it again. We are ready and pumped to go to St. Louis, February 8,9,10!
About the Survive Youth Ministry Conference Tour
Dare 2 Share's Survive Training Tour will equip teenagers to live strong and stand firm in a culture of fear due to global and personal uncertainty. This training weekend will use 2 Peter 3:9-14 as a survival guide to provide teens the hope and victory that comes only through Jesus Christ.
Major Themes:
- Teens will get a big picture view of prophecy. Many times Christians miss the major point of prophecy in disagreements over when and how Jesus will return. The big picture view focuses not on "when" or "how" but "that" he is coming back and we must be ready.
- Teenagers will discover the 10 defining characteristics of God and how each of these attributes can change their life forever! You will be amazed at how these teenagers can grasp and apply the basic theology of God when it is presented in a relevant and effective way.
- Your youth group will learn how to deal with money and possessions in light of the return of Christ. They will get an action plan to live simply and use their money and "stuff" to fuel their own local churches, the kingdom of God at large and the poor.
- Each of your teenagers will get a practical action plan for sexual purity in light of the return of Christ. They will learn how to fight against the lies and stay pure all the way through their high school and college years.
The Friday Night Drama:
The Survive Tour drama focuses on the imminent return of Christ amidst growing persecution as a motivation. The setting is five years in the future. Terrorism is now a global problem. "Radical extremism" in any religion is viewed as pre-terrorist action. Evangelism is now seen as part of that radical extremism. Proselytizing is outlawed, viewed as an invasion of privacy and a pre-terrorist act. A group of Christian young people are caught in the crossfire between faith and survival. Will they choose to share Jesus in spite of the cost or will they just shut up and stay alive? The outcome of this life-rattling drama will motivate your teens to live strong, stand firm and speak out no matter what the consequences.
Skits, Clips, Audience Interactive Experiences and Outreach:
Appropriate movie clips, original video shorts, audience interaction activities and a four hour outreach experience (collecting canned food for local rescue missions, collecting prayer requests and sharing the good news of Jesus as youth groups in pre-mapped areas of the conference city) will be an integral part of the training experience. Every six to eight minutes something different happens on stage to maximize the training and keep the thousands of teenagers fully engaged the entire weekend.
We will SURVIVE!
If you are still wanting to tag along with us please let Devin know as soon as possible!
