Memory Bank
Read Deuteronomy 8:1-5
When you have something you have to remember, what do you do? Post-it's, notes, repetition, calendar, etc...? Scripture contains our instructions for life. How can we be certain we retain what God teaches us in His word?

Actions speak louder than words
Have you ever heard the expession, "actions speak louder than words?" Imagine if I told my wife that I loved her every day but refused to ever demonstrate it through my actions. Do you think she would feel loved? John encourages us to demonstrate our love in actions and in truth. How can you demonstrate love in this way to someone you come into contact with today? Be specific.

It's a love-hate thing
Read 1 John 3:13-15
Does the world hate you? I once heard someone ask this question: If you were put on trial for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you? What they were getting at is whether or not you live out your faith. Chances are, if you live out your faith you will encounter the hatred of the world? Why does John use love-hate language to describe our relationship with the world? Does this all seem a bit extreme?

A Different Kind of Love
Read 1 Corinthians 13:13
There are a number of meanings and applications of the word "love" in the English language. I love a big juicy hamburger, but not in the same way that I love my wife. As you read from 1 Corinthians 13 what kind of love does Paul describe? Why is this love so important?

Only Jesus can conquer sin. How does that make you feel? Does this fill you with joy...confidence...what?
